Dear Spartan Students and Families,
My name is Mrs. Dunn and I am so excited to be a part of the sixth grade Spartan Team! Most importantly, I am THRILLED to be your teacher! It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us. I want to know about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me.
I was born and raised right here in Lancaster County. After graduating from Manheim Central, I went off to Shippensburg, PA where I became a Red Raider!! I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood. I have since earned a Master’s Degree and continue each year to take classes to learn all that I can to become a better teacher.
This year begins my 24th year in education! I have always taught 6th grade and I love it!! While I have been around for a while, I can assure you that I keep up with all the latest trends! In fact, I read three great teacher books this summer and can’t wait to get back in the classroom to implement all that I’ve learned.
I have taught many subjects throughout the years, but my passion is teaching reading! I can’t wait to introduce you to new places, people, and ideas through the books that we will read this year!
My husband and I will be married 23 years in October!! We have settled here in Donegal and are proud to have our three children be a part of the Donegal School District. Our oldest, Karli, will be an 11th grader at the High School, Hannah will be in freshman, and our youngest, Andrew, will be entering 5th grade here at the Intermediate School. My life outside of school is crazy busy trying to keep up with three kids and their activities! On top of our crazy life, we also have a puppy, Snickers! I can’t wait to show you pictures and tell you funny stories about him!! In my spare time, I like to exercise, spend time with my family and, of course, read!
It won’t be long until we see each other in person and get to know one another even better. I am looking forward to an AWESOME year together!
