            <p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;August 8, 2017</p><p>Dear Shawnee Team students and parents,&nbsp;</p><p>I am very excited to meet all of you and begin our adventure together. &nbsp;As the Shawnee team, we will be exploring new worlds and embarking on new adventures. &nbsp;I can not wait to get to know you, but I'm going to tell you about me.&nbsp;</p><p>I was born and raised here in Lancaster County. &nbsp;After graduating from Warwick High School, I graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. &nbsp;I returned to Millersville University to earn &nbsp;a Master's Degree in Language Arts with a Reading Specialist Certificate. &nbsp;</p><p>I began my teaching career at Donegal Middle School as a learning support teacher for one year. &nbsp;I then taught sixth grade for the next two years. &nbsp;I moved to Grandview Elementary School and began teaching fourth grade! &nbsp;I have been teaching for 25 years - I know, I can't believe it either. &nbsp;In all those years, I have had many adventures. &nbsp;I taught on the second floor of the brand new Donegal Springs Elementary School when it opened and called it home for eight years. &nbsp;When the district reconfigured the schools, I moved to Donegal Intermediate School. During the remodelling, in one year I moved from inside the building to the trailers and back to the building. I became very good at packing.&nbsp; This year I am looking forward to my newest adventure teaching fifth grade! I can't wait!</p><p>Outside of school I enjoy living here in the district with my husband of 26 years and our two children. &nbsp;Both of my children are Donegal graduates.They loved their years at Donegal, but are enjoying the adventure known as college. &nbsp;Joelle is in her third year of nursing school and Josh will be a sophomore in college and playing soccer. My husband and I are beginning a new chapter of our lives - a whole new "kidless" adventure. &nbsp;</p><p>I LOVE to read and teach reading. Summertime is my time to read. I tend to devour books like chocolate. I have read four professional books about reading and writing. &nbsp;I'm excited to implement the new things that I have learned. I also read at least five books for fun! &nbsp;My go to summer fun reading tends to be mysteries. I can't wait to hear about all the books that you've read this summer. &nbsp;I've also been spending my summer excersizing, gardening and canning, spending time with my family and visiting our cabin in the mountains near Penn State. &nbsp;</p><p>It will be a few short weeks until we meet. &nbsp;I am thrilled to get our year started and have an AWESOME year together.</p><p>Sincerely,&nbsp;</p><p>Mrs. Michelle P.
