Meet your teacher!

Hi and welcome to fourth grade.  I LOVE being a teacher and can’t wait for this year to begin.  I have been teaching fourth grade in Donegal for 22 years.  Miss DiNapoli and I work together with the Trekker team and have a TON of fun.

I love spending time outside with my family, running, walking, kayaking and playing sports.  I grew up playing basketball and softball so I love to do anything active.

I can’t wait to guide you through your fourth grade journey this year.  It will be an adventure you will NOT forget.

Always do your homework!

As fourth graders I believe homework is very important. It practices the skills we have worked on in the classroom as well as helps to make the students work on their responsibility.
They will receive homework every Monday and it will be due on Friday. They need to show their agendas to their parents so they know what homework is due and what needs to get done.
Every time a child does not do their homework I will keep track of it.  If it continues to be a problem, parents will be contacted and a consequence will be given in the classroom.  If it continues to be a problem we can work together to solve it.

Mrs. Haak's Exceptional Students

The two main behaviors I liked to see focused on in fourth grade are respect and responsibility. Students need to be respectful of everyone. With respect the basic rules will be followed very easily.

As fourth graders I feel that the students are ready to be very responsible and need to keep track of their own work in and out of school. Homework is a huge part of being responsible. Homework will be assigned on Monday and due on Friday.

If the students do have problems in the classroom, we use Class DoJo. This is an app used to motivate students to use respectful and responsible behavior in the classroom and also remind them to make the correct choices. Here is a link to learn more.
